Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the CE Committee of Ministers was quite active and successful, acting spokesman for the Azerbaijani foreign ministry Hikmet Hajiyev told reporters Nov. 14.
He was commenting on the completion of the country's chairmanship in this organization.
"Azerbaijan has contributed to the development of main principles, namely, the rule of law, human rights protection and democracy development," he said.
"The fight against corruption was another sphere for Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the organization," he said. "Azerbaijan has shared its rich experience in this area with the CE countries."
"Azerbaijan has made a number of initiatives in the organization," he said. "Special attention during the chairmanship was paid to the tolerance and intercultural dialogue. The youth policy was another area of activity. Azerbaijan has also expanded its cooperation with other international organizations."
Azerbaijan has chaired the organization for six months. It passed its chairmanship to Belgium Nov. 11.
