Azerbaijan has been a very reliable contributor to NATO operations, Special Representative of the NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai said.
"Azerbaijan has been a very reliable contributor to NATO operations," he told Trend. "Starting from contributions to KFOR, then to ISAF for many years, and now to our new Resolute Support mission to train, advise and assist Afghan security forces."
"Azerbaijani troops have performed in an outstanding manner, usually in close cooperation with our Turkish allies," Appathurai said.
He said that Azerbaijan has been an important transit country for our troops in Afghanistan.
"Furthermore, Azerbaijan's civilian assistance to Afghanistan, including in the area of demining, is highly appreciated and continues to be of great importance," Appathurai said.
