President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uruguay Enrique Delgado Genta on Oct. 27.

Enrique Delgado Genta presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.

The head of state said there have been positive improvements in terms of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay recently.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of active participation of the Uruguayan delegation in Baku International Humanitarian Forum.

The head of state recalled his meeting with the Uruguayan delegation.

President Ilham Aliyev said the Uruguayan delegation traditionally attends the Forum and noted that this created good opportunities for the development of bilateral relations.

The head of state said there has been good dynamic in the development of Azerbaijani-Uruguayan relations recently.

President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of ambassador’s role in strengthening the bilateral ties.

Ambassador Enrique Delgado Genta conveyed greetings of President of the Republic of Uruguay Tabare Vázquez to the head of state.

The diplomat said his country’s president attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan, which are relatively new.

The head of state thanked for the greetings of President Tabare Vázquez, and asked the ambassador to extend his greetings to the Uruguayan leader.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev also received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana to the country Kodzo Kpoku Alabo on Oct. 27.

The ambassador presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.

Ambassador Kodzo Kpoku Alabo conveyed greetings of President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama to President Ilham Aliyev, and noted that the president of Ghana instructed him to develop bilateral relations between the two countries.

Kodzo Kpoku Alabo stressed the importance of signing the agreement on political consultations between Azerbaijan and Ghana and conducting negotiations on the elimination of visa regime for diplomatic and service passport holders.

The ambassador said that during his diplomatic tenure he would spare no effort to expand relations between the two countries.

They emphasized the existence of good opportunities for developing cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including energy and sport.

The head of state thanked for the greetings of President John Dramani Mahama, and asked the ambassador to extend his greetings to the president of Ghana.

Noting that relations between Azerbaijan and South Sudan were at the initial stage of development, the head of state hailed the importance of reviewing the initiatives aimed at developing the bilateral cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the significance of exploring opportunities for the development of bilateral relations in a variety of areas, particularly in the field of economy, energy, trade and healthcare.

Telar Ring Deng said he was pleased to be appointed as ambassador to Azerbaijan, adding that this created a good opportunity for getting closely familiarized with the country. Saying it is his first visit to Azerbaijan, ambassador Telar Ring Deng hailed the beauty of Baku.

He said South Sudan is one of the newest countries on the world map, and expressed hope that his country will build good bilateral relations with Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Christopher John Cooter said he is deeply impressed by the development of Baku.

He noted that a number of Canadian major companies are operating in Azerbaijan in various areas including high technologies, transportation and tourism.

Saying Azerbaijani students receive education at Canadian universities, Christopher John Cooter stressed the importance of improving educational cooperation between the two countries.

The Canadian ambassador said he will spare no efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Touching upon Canadian companies’ long-term activities in Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev hailed the importance of implementing joint projects.

President Ilham Aliyev said the two hotels in Baku - Four Seasons and Fairmont - that belong to Canadian companies are the best hotels in the region.

The head of state said ‘Flame Towers’ complex where Fairmont hotel is located has become one of the newest symbols of modern Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev said he is hopeful that cooperation with Canadian companies will continue.
