The opening of the Center for History and Culture of Azerbaijan in Almaty city will have positive impact on the rapprochement of the two peoples and the exchange of scientific knowledge, Azerbaijani President’s Assistant for Public and Political Affairs, Head of Department Ali Hasanov said at a meeting with the Head of Kazakhstan’s Almaty city Bauyrzhan Baibek, Kazakh media outlets reported.
“We have already managed to hold several conferences dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the 95th birth anniversary of our national leader Heydar Aliyev,” Hasanov said. “This support testifies to friendly and fraternal relations between our states.”
During the meeting, the sides discussed many important issues, including the possible opening of Azerbaijan’s trading house in Almaty.
Azerbaijan's delegation proposed to make Almaty and the Azerbaijani Ganja twin cities in order to expand bilateral cooperation.
