BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26. Unfortunately, the United States, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group (MG), over the past years has not taken any effective steps to stop the military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, which has lasted almost 30 years, Trend reports citing the statement of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
"In connection with the opinion of the Deputy Head of the Press Service of the US State Department Jalina Porter on the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, voiced during a meeting with media representatives, we bring to the attention of the official of the State Department that, unfortunately, over the years the United States, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has taken no effective steps to stop the military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, which lasted almost 30 years," the foreign ministry said.
"Azerbaijan, on the basis of international law, restored its territorial integrity and ensured the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions. At present, there is no concept of "Nagorno-Karabakh", but there are economic regions of Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh, which are an integral part of Azerbaijan," the ministry noted.
"Such a statement by a representative of the US State Department based on false Armenian propaganda is in itself irresponsible behavior. The Republic of Azerbaijan operates on its sovereign territories," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
