BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Nikola Minchev within the framework of the official visit to Bulgaria, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
Welcoming the Azerbaijani foreign minister, Nikola Minchev noted the particular importance of this visit for the development of relations between the two countries.
Bayramov presented the chairman with a congratulatory letter from Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
Minchev expressed his gratitude and conveyed his congratulations.
The meeting emphasized prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, economy, education, culture, and tourism.
The minister thanked the Bulgarian side for adoption of the declaration by the Bulgarian National Assembly on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. He also talked about the post-conflict situation in the region, as well as reconstruction work carried out in the Azerbaijani liberated territories.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
