BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. The Azerbaijani-Turkmen business forum and the VII meeting of the Intergovernmental Azerbaijani-Turkmen Commission will be held in Ashgabat on November 27–28 this year, Deputy Prime Minister for the Trade Complex and Textile Industry of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev said, Trend reports.
He made the remark in his report to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The official noted that companies specializing in the oil and gas industry, textile sector, agriculture and food production, construction and building materials manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, transportation and logistics, as well as information technology, will participate in the events.
At the same time, Atdayev highlighted that a series of bilateral meetings and negotiations between representatives of the Turkmen business community and Azerbaijani companies are planned.
He added that the forum is expected to result in the signing of relevant documents.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan increased by 93.6 percent from January through October 2023 compared to the same period last year ($377.24 million), reaching $730.38 million.
