BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. Awareness trainings are underway to prevent negative incidents in the snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, the nation's Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Mazahir Panahov said, Trend reports.

He made the remark at today's meeting on the possibilities of equal election campaigning and the basics of the activities of media entities in the upcoming election in Baku.

According to him, millions of people participate in election around the world, and in this process, no one is immune from unpleasant situations, the official explained.

“The role of the media in these activities [trainings] is undeniable. Media actors sometimes use sensational moments to increase their popularity. There is no need to be afraid of unpleasant situations arising. At an event in which millions of people participate, such situations are not excluded. It will just be needed to make a quick decision on the spot," Panahov added.

To note, on June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
