BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree “On Amendments to the Provision on the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Trend reports.
According to the decree of the head of state, the following powers have been added to the list of objectives of the ministry:
- to participate in the organization of road traffic and pedestrian and road infrastructure through the subordinate institution, as well as to ensure regulation of traffic flows together with the relevant bodies;
- to ensure control over compliance with the requirements for parking of vehicles in parking lots in the administrative territory of Baku city;
- to provide feedback to draft detailed plans developed as part of the planning of territories of settlements or territorial areas in terms of ensuring the requirements related to the transportation of people and goods (including transportation by public transport vehicles carrying out transportation at close distances), including the flexibility of movement of people (on foot and by transport);
- to provide feedback on projects for construction, capital repair, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of highways, bus terminals (bus stations), underpasses, subway exits, and bicycle paths, taking into account the road capacity and indicators of compliance of the territory with the road and transportation infrastructure.
