BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. The Coalition of Election Observers “For Civil Society” will observe the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan in 75 election districts across the country, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the participation of more than 500 persons, Trend reports.

The observers include members of NGOs, activists, and volunteers.

According to the information, it is indicated in the report, presented by the Coalition of Election Observers “For Civil Society” on August 20 in connection with the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan.

Furthermore, it was noted that in the election to the Azerbaijani Parliament on September 1, the coalition will also observe in the territories liberated from occupation.

“NGO representatives who returned permanently to their native lands after the 30-year occupation ended were engaged as observers in Aghdam, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Fuzuli, Lachin, Kalbajar districts, Shusha city," the report said.

The report also notes that the socio-political situation in Azerbaijan is completely stable ahead of the election. There is no mass discontent, protests, or violent processes in connection with the election process.

“The Internet and social media expanded opportunities for all stakeholders, political parties, and candidates to express their opinions and positions freely. Not a single case of preventing the dissemination of critical judgments in connection with the appointment of extraordinary election, obstacles to public discussion has been recorded,” the report mentions.

On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and calling for an extraordinary election.

The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
