BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. The number of international observers registered for the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, including 277 from the OSCE, has been revealed, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said, Trend reports.
According to Panahov, a total of 604 international observers from 69 countries and 50 organizations have been registered.
"227 observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) have already been registered. Additionally, 61 observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) and 16 from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) have been accredited," he emphasized.
The application period for international observers to monitor the parliamentary election in all constituencies across Azerbaijan concluded on August 22.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
