BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Prospects for the development of military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE have been discussed in Abu Dhabi, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.
The discussion took place during the attendance of a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Director General Agil Gurbanov, to the 17th International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and the 8th Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) in the UAE capital.
The Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan is also showcasing its booth at IDEX, one of the world's largest defense industry exhibitions, involving 1,560 exhibitors from 65 countries presenting their products.
The Director General reviewed the samples of modern weapons and equipment showcased at the stands of “Azersilah” Defense Industry Holding” Closed Joint-Stock Company, subordinate to the Ministry of Defense Industry, and other countries’ companies.
As part of the exhibition, Gurbanov met with President of Secretariat of Defense Industries under the Presidency of Türkiye Haluk Gorgun, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Slovakia Robert Kaliňák, Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, Minister of Defense of Italy Guido Crosetto, Deputy National Defense Minister of Türkiye Musa Heybet, as well as heads of several leading global companies.
During the meetings, the sides also discussed the current state of military cooperation and exchanged views on a number of other issues of interest.
