I spoke on the state of affairs on migration, refugees and population issues in Azerbaijan at the first Euro-Asian forum dedicated to the above-mentioned problems, staged by the Council of Europe in Alma-Ati, a member of the Azerbaijan’s delegation, deputy Bahtiyar Aliyev told Trend.
According to him, he reported the forum’s participants on the fact of the Azerbaijan’s lands occupation by Armenians, the situation with the refugees and internally displaces persons, placement of migrants from other countries in Azerbaijan and development of the Azerbaijan’s law in conformity with the European standards.
Aliyev also noted the second Euro-Asian forum might take place in two years in Turkey. В"Such proposal was put forward by the Turkish parliamentarians.”
Aliyev also noted at the event which was attended by the Council of Europe member states, representatives of international institutions delegation from Armenia was not available. В"They had been invited, but did not take part for unknown grounds”.
В"The event finishes on 17 September by adopting the Alma-Ati Declaration”, Aliyev noted.
