PREPARATIONS FOR FINNISH PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO AZERBAIJAN UNDERWAY

Preparations for the forthcoming official visit of Tarja Halonen, the Finnish President, to Azerbaijan planned from 29 to 30 September are underway. Khalaf Khalafov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, told Trendin an exclusive interview.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently unifying the visit program and agenda of the coming bilateral negotiations which will be held in the highest level.

The Ministry also develops a list of documents to be signed during the visit. According to Khalafov, the final version of the projects will be ready in 1-2 days. The documents will cover all cooperation spheres. It is also planned to hold business-forum within the visit.

During the visit the Finnish President will be accompanied by her partner Pentti Arayarvi.

The negotiations in Baku will come as a part of Halonen’s regional tour of the South Caucasus countries. The visit started from Yerevan on 26 September, where the Finnish President will stay for 2 days. Halonen will hold some meetings in Tbilisi from 28 to 29 September.
