Summer season of labor fairs organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in the regions came to an end. In August the labor fairs were in Zakatala and Hajigabul, which enabled to employ 120 people.
In accordance with official statistics, as of 1 September 2005 a total of 3841,300 economically active people were employed in the Azerbaijan, or 46.4% of all population. In January to July 2005 average number of employees involved in enterprises and organizations of the country grew 7%. 80.4% of the hired employees in this period were involved in the sphere of service, while the rest 19.6% - in production.
Besides, the number of jobless also increased in the country. 51.7% of all 56,418 jobless registered at the recruitment agencies are women.

In August average monthly the unemployed allowances made up 209,800 manats, or 34.5% of average salary. 2661 unemployed received allowances.
As of official data, in this period the average monthly salary comprised 572,400 manats, or 22.5% more than the same period of 2004. The highest salaries were fixed in the spheres of industry, finance, rent and commerce, construction.
In August the figure was 608,500 manats, which is more 26.3% as compared August 2005. This time rise in salaries concerned employees of the State Road Police and Interior Ministry. Hence, the РћС'ныне the ranks will receive approximately $350 a month, while the officers - $500-$700 a month. It means the salaries were increased 5-7 times. A total of 4500 people are involved in this sector.
The social payments paid at the job places made up 24.7bn manats. Major part of benefits fell on employees of electricity gas and water supply, transport, store economy, communications and education.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January to August 2005 net money incomes of the population grew 26.3% as compared to last year and comprised 23493.2trln manats (including 3,106.4m manats in August). Per capita incomes comprised 2,847m manats, or 25.1% up than 2004.

After implementation of tax remittances, obligatory payments and voluntary fees the real community incomes made up 22.5trln manats, or 26.3% more than 2004. Real per capita money incomes comprised 2725,500 manats (+25% and -4.1%). In this period 74.3% of the community expenses was spent on purchase of goods and services, 4.4% - on obligatory payments and fees, 21.3% - purchase of foreign currency.
Over 8 months of 2005 the expenses turned out 490.6bn manats down as compared to incomes and made up 23,002,6bn manats, or 23.7% up as compared to 2004.
As to state of the living minimum in the country in August the Azerbaijani President signed a decree on injecting changes to some legislative acts of the country in connection with the application of the law on Living Subsistence. The Cabinet of Ministers was charged to draft and submit proposals on the application of the Living Subsistence in a month.
