Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan held within inter’l standards, Turkish observation mission

In accordance with the results of the monitoring held by 82 Turkish observers in the election stations of Baku, Ganja, Shamakhi, Zagatala, Salyan, Lankaran, Goychay, Ismayilli and other regions, the parliamentary elections were held within the international standards,” Akan Suver, the head of the Turkish observation mission, also Secretary General of the Marmara Fund, said to a news conference on Sunday, Trend reports.

He reported that the observation mission included MPs, journalists, teachers of universities, as well as representatives of nongovernmental organizations of Turkey. “We carried out the monitoring of the elections in 22 countries of the world and it should be mentioned that no incidents and violations of the legislation were noted by us. The voting as open and democratic,” the head of the group underlined.

Commenting the information about the ban imposed on import of TV devices for direct broadcasting of the voting, Suver stated that the facts were results of technical incompleteness by the Turkish media.

“Legislation of most countries envisages necessity of special permission,” Suver underlined. He stressed that Turkish media representatives was due to turn to the Azerbaijani consular establishments.
