FM deputy head of Azerbaijan left for Astana

Deputy Foreign Minister (FM) of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov left for Astana on 22 November for a working visit. Khalafov and the FM expert group accompanying him will take part in the next XIX sitting of the Caspian littoral states on defining the status of the Caspian Sea to take place on 23-24 November in the capital city of Kazakhstan, FM told Trend.

The experts of the Caspian littoral states will continue at this stage to work over the draft Convention and consider the issue of holding the next summit of the Caspian heads of states. The Azerbaijan’s deputy FM is likely to hold bilateral meetings with experts from Turkmenistan and Iran, FM noted.

The XVIII session of the Caspian Sea states took place on 6-7 October in Baku.
