Azerbaijan is ready to present guarantees for peaceable co-resistance of the Azerbaijani and Armenian communities after the liberation of the occupied territory of Azerbaijan, Trend quoted Oktay Asadov, the Azerbaijani speaker, as stating to ANS local television cannel on Thursday. He made a statement in a meeting with the EU commissar on foreign relationships and European Neighborhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
Azerbaijan backs the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the base of international law, the speaker stated. He also noted that Azerbaijan accounts on the resolution of the problem with the assistance of EU experience.
Ferrero-Waldner voiced the EUs readiness for expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan in its integration to the European bodies.
