Gultekin Gadjiyeva, MP: PACE Committee approved 9 out of 18 amendments from Azerbaijan's delegation on the draft of "Refugees and forced migrants in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia" report

9 out of 18 amendments from Azerbaijans delegation on the draft of report entitled "Refugees and forced migrants in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia" to be performed by member of Latvian parliament Boris Chilevich (# 10,835) have been approved April 13 at the session of Refugees and Forced Migrants Committee within PACE, Trend says with reference to Gulteking Gadjiyeva, member of Azerbaijans delegation to PACE.

Among these amendments are the issues like В"Inadmissibility of settlement of occupied grounds of AzerbaijanВ", as well as В"cancellation of the article that sets out the impossibility of refugees returning home until the conflict is resolvedВ".

В"Despite the Mr Chilevichs intention to keep intact the clause setting out that refugees should not return home up to complete resolution of the conflict, we said this clause contradicts the manner of conversation processВ", - Ms Gadjiyeva said.

Ms Gadjiyeva opined that approval of this article outlines the necessity in resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict in a set of measures; it is a very important statement. The Committee has taken my words in consideration and the amendment was made, - she said.

Alongside, Ms Gadjiyeva said the report originally didnt mention the support for 250 thousand Azerbaijani exiled from Armenia, but she persuaded Mr Chilevich to make this amendment in the draft of the document.

However, Ms Gadjiyeva stated the remaining of one clause unchanged, despite the strong discontent of Azerbaijans delegation. That is the issue of В"necessity in intergovernmental dialog between Azerbaijan and ArmeniaВ". She stressed the inadmissibility of any dialog while Armenia holds Azerbaijans grounds under occupation.

We should note that debates on the report are scheduled to commence at 1700 Baku time and will continue till the end of the session.
