Iran's FM to visit Baku

Irans Foreign Minister Manuchekhr Mottaki is visiting Baku in early May, Trend reports with reference to Iran's Embassy to Azerbaijan.

The goal of the visit is participation in the Session of FMs of member-countries of Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC) held May 4 in Baku. The main theme at the session will be preparation to OEC Summit to be held May 5 in Baku. Irans president Mahmud Ahmedinejad is awaited at the Summit.

OEC was established in 1985 and is a legal successor of Regional Cooperation organization for Development that used to operate based on the charter, signed by three states Turkey, Iran and Pakistan March 1, 1977. In 1992 Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan joined the organization.
