On June 23 to 25, 2006 a IX congress of Worlds Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC) is held in Stockholm under the chairmanship of Muhammad Rza Kheshti. Deputy Chairman of WAC Teymur Eminbeyli told Trend that over 400 compatriots from around the globe are gathering at the congress.
He said also the primary goal of the congress is involvement of Sweden-residing Azerbaijanis. В"There are many Swede-Azeri associations in Sweden that strive to familiarize the countrys public with Azerbaijans life. In Sweden, there is also Azeri IP-TV В"United AzerbaijanВ" located at www.azadtribun.net. Its programs are watched worldwide.
Eminbeyli said the congress is gathering up to 130 scientists, MPs, politicians, journalists, etc. from Azerbaijan and Russia. The congress also awaits Swedish officials, media, etc.
The second part of the congress features performances about emigrants life and that of ashugs from Azerbaijan Although the top issue of the congress is South Azerbaijan problem, the participants will also speak of political processes in Azerbaijan Republic, Karabakh issues, Diaspora organization, etc.
