Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan near to signing agreement on oil transportation via BTC  Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are near to signing an intergovernmental agreement on joint oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline, Lazzat Kiinov, the Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, stated to the opening ceremony of the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition and conference 2006 which opened in Baku on 6 June. The agreement will be signed shortly, Trend reports citing the Deputy Minister.

Kiinov underlined Astana and Baku were also seriously considering gas deliveries via Azerbaijan. The current level of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan bilateral relationships enable to carry out this project.

Kiinov underlined that Azerbaijan is an only country possessing significant experience in the development of the Caspian oil and gas fields and we have something to share with and speak about.
