On November 1, the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Andreas Herkel and Tony Lloyd, who are in Azerbaijan on a visit, held a meeting in the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC), the Head of the International Relations Department of the CEC Rovzat Gasimov told Trend.
He said that during the meeting, the co-rapporteurs were made aware of the results of the municipal elections held in Azerbaijan on October 6.
The CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov spoke about the conduct of the municipal elections, liquidation of the emerging problem, unreality of results in several polling stations and cancellation of composition of the election commissions in two election districts. In addition, Panahov emphasized that if law breaks were committed during the election, then the offenders will be punished, Gasimov spelled out.
According to him, PACE co-rapporteurs did not expressed any opinions or unsatisfatction regarding the elections. They only collected information about the issues that are of interest for them.
