The World Congress of the Azerbaijanis (WCA) will continue the protest action regarding the Khojali genocide all over the world, Javad Derehti the WCA Chairman stated in an exclusive interview with Trend.
This year we started the protest action regarding the Khojali genocide in Baku and completed it in Hague. We will continue this action and will hold an event dedicated to the Khojali genocide on 24 February 2007, he said, adding that the 20 January tragedy is also marked annually. All WCA representatives mark the anniversary of tragedy in the country where they work.
Derehti stated that the Congress of WCA, scheduled to take place in December, has been postponed due to lack of finances to invite the outstanding representatives of the intelligentsia, media and scientists from Azerbaijan to the forum. Speaking about the new date of the congress, Derehti stressed that the event should take place on a field day. Firstly it may be scheduled to take place during Novruz Holiday (National Holiday of Azerbaijan) next year or on 28 May, Independence Day of Azerbaijan.
