Azerbaijani President Met Known Painters

Today, on December 27, in the Sate Art Museum, Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has met known painters on the occasion of 65th anniversary of the Painters' Union of Azerbaijan, Trend reports

Prior to meet with the painters, the head of the Azerbaijani State looked over observed the pictures dedicated to All-National leader Heydar Aliyev, which were made by modern Azerbaijani painters. Then he observed the monument dedicated to prominent ophthalmologist Academician Zarifa Aliyeva

A retro-exposition of masterpieces of late painters was organized on the occasion of 65th anniversary of the Painters' Union in the Museum. The Azerbaijani President got known with it.

Farhad Khalilov, the Chairman of the Painter's Union, the People Painter, expressed his gratitude to the Head of the State for his visit, and said that the fulfillment of the decision on the foundation of the Museum of Modern Art would play the key role in the modern art.

He added that on occasion of 80th jubilee of Heydar Aliyev, an exposition-contest The Independence of Azerbaijan and Heydar Aliyevwas held. Painters from 27 countries took part in this event.

Mr. Khalilov presented an album with the pictures demonstrated in this exposition to the President. He said that it was for the first time when the Union established a gold medal, which was for the first time presented President Ilham Aliyev by the Presidium of the Painters' Union.
