The problem of the Azerbaijan web-sites is linked with the lack of the necessary security systems, said the Director of the IT Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Rasim Aliguliyev, commenting on Armenian hack of the Public TV of Azerbaijan web site.
According to him, Armenians hacking of this and other Azerbaijan web sites should be a signal of distress and should serve as a catalyst in the process of strengthening the security of the Azerbaijan internet resources.
They hold information war and we should stand against it. But unfortunately, in many cases this side of the work remains without necessary attention. By giving preference to the design, large scale of materials placed in the portals, their creators do not pay necessary attention to the security problem and it creates a favorable situation for hacking, Aliguliyev said.
The Director of the Institute said that the security of the internet resources will be significant in the process of creating information society and applying E-Government in Azerbaijan. In July 2006, the same case took place with the web-site of the Academy due to the weak security system of the server, he said.
In addition, Aliguliyev considers that in order to prevent such problems, the normative-legal base and technical base of the servers needs to strengthen and high-qualified staffs that have experience with such cases need to be trained.
Ensuring the Internet security is very important for Azerbaijan. On the eve of the E-Government, the role of the network infrastructure becomes more significant in various directions of the social-political and economical life of the country, he said.
