Iran Stands Ready to Establish Non-Visa Regime for Other Border Territories with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Huseynov / The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Nasir Hamidy Zare, said on 4 June at the press conference that Iran is prepared to establish a non-visa regime for other border territories with Azerbaijan, similar to the non-visa system applied on the border with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. He said that recently he visited Nakhchivan, became familiarized and was satisfied with the activities of the border checkpoints and the development of border co-operation.

According to Zare, a document had been signed between Azerbaijan and Iran to simplify the visa regime. The diplomat said that Iran stands ready to experience the non-visa system for the citizens of the border districts.

Zare expressed his satisfaction with the situation in other border regions with Azerbaijan.
