Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / Jeju, South Korea's southern resort island, will host the 61st World Bodybuilding Championship in the near future.
About 5,000 athletes and coaches from around the world are expected to participate. The Azerbaijani athletes have already gone to Jeju, the team has enough time for trainings.
Jeju applied for the hosting of the championship early last month, and the World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF) provisionally decided to pick the South Korean island among the bidders, including Brazil, Italy and Bahrain.
The Championship will be the first full-fledge games for Rafael Santokhi, the president of the International Federation (IFBB) since ha has been appointed the position.
