Du Li overcame recent disappointment to win gold for China in the women's 50 metres rifle three-positions competition at the Beijing Olympics on Thursday.
Du scored a convincing win, totalling 690.3 points from sessions in the prone, standing and kneeling position, dpa reported.
The air rifle gold medallist Katerina Emmons added a silver with 687.7 points and Eglis Cruz of Cuba took bronze with 687.6 points.
Du finished a disappointing fifth in the air rifle event, the first medal event of the Beijing Games, on Saturday, after winning that competition 2004 in Athens. But she made up for it on Thursday for her second career gold.
The other medal event later Thursday is the women' skeet event.
