Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 August / corr. Trend R.Ergun / Teymur Rajabov, an Azerbaijani chess player, ranked the second place in the FIDE (International Chess Federation) Grand Prix tournament in Sochi.
Rajabov defeated Sergey Karyakin, a Ukrainian chess player, at the last round of the Grand Prix tournament.
Vugar Hashimov, another Azerbaijani chess player, lost to Russian Peter Svidler at the last round of the FIDE Grand Prix tournament. Hashimov finished the tournament at the ninth place.
A total of 14 chess players from different countries participated in the Grand Prix tournament.
