China continue dominating gymnastics

China on Tuesday continued dominating the gymnastics competition at the Beijing Olympics as Li Xiaopeng won his second gold medal of the competition, taking the parallel bars gold, dpa reported.

The 27-year-old, who won gold in Sydney in the team event and in the parallel bars and bronze in the parallel four years later in Athens, proved too strong for his competitors as he won with 16.450 points, beating South Korean Yoo Wan Chul by 0.2 points.

Li also has eight world titles to his credit.

Third place went to Anton Fokin from Uzbekistan for his first Olympic medal.
