Azerbaijan, Baku, July 10 / Trend M.Aliyev /

Azerbaijan holds a written exam for the vacant judicial seats July 10.

The exams that take place at the Azerbaijani Technical University involve 80 candidates, who have passed the eight-month training course.

"The test results will be announced in ten days and the candidates receiving 60 or more points can participate in the next step - oral examination," Chairman of the Electoral Committee of Judges Iman Nagiyev told journalists.

The number of vacant judicial seats increased due to the establishment of administrative courts in Azerbaijan, Nagiyev added.

Representatives of local NGOs, media outlets and more than 20 international organizations monitor the course of exams.

Each candidate is represented two questions (from the criminal and civil law), prepared by the Judicial and Legal Council.

Candidates should prepare the verdict on a criminal case and the decision - on a civil case. Candidates would have four hours for preparations.

To date, the committee conducted two competitions for judgeship, as a result of which 157 qualified lawyers appointed as judges.
