The department for preliminary investigation of tax crimes of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes filed 538 criminal cases against physical and legal entities in 2010 on the facts of tax evasion, illegal entrepreneurship and other violations, the ministry said.
Roughly 163 cases were fully investigated. Roughly 30 cases revealed tax evasion, seven - the illegal business, six - the sale of excisable goods without excise stamps, one case - embezzlement by fraud, and one case - unlawful restraint of state borders. Roughly 45 criminal cases against 48 people were submitted for consideration to the courts
Roughly 11.375 million manat were paid to the state budget.
