Charter of media union of Turkic-speaking countries to be adopted in February

The charter of the media union of Turkic-speaking countries will be adopted in February, Arif Gulen, the head of the information department of the Turkish Prime Ministry's Directorate General of Press and Information, told Trend.

"During a media forum of Turkic-speaking countries, held in Ankara on December 21-22, a working group on establishing a union of journalists in these countries was created. A meeting of this working group will be held in Turkey in February. The charter of the new organization will be adopted," Gulen said.

He said that the consent of all the Turkic-speaking countries, except Uzbekistan was received.

The exact date of creating the media union of Turkic-speaking countries has not been determined yet, Gulen said.

Earlier, the head of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov said during a media forum in Ankara that a decision was made to create the media union of Turkic-speaking countries and to organize the forum on "Media in the world of globalization: opportunities and challenges".
