Unfortunately, the issues of hijab and adhan are sometimes considered in Azerbaijan as a true essence of Islam. Using it, the external forces are trying to organize rallies, Chairman of the State Committee for the Work with Religious Associations under the Azerbaijani President Hidayat Orujov said at a roundtable on "Society and Religion" on Saturday at the Academy of Public Administration.
"Hijab is not banned in Azerbaijan, but the followers of religion do not have any advantage over other people," he said.
He said that other questions are the root of the problems, arising due to the lack of adhan.
"When the initiative was put forward to perform adhan live, there were no people who could do it. The outdated technology, through which the adhan is performed, has a negative impact on the psychology of children in the nearby kindergartens and schools," the head of the state committee said.
Expressing the attitude to the anxiety over the demolition of mosques in Azerbaijan, Orujev said that illegal structures were demolished and they will be demolished in the future.
"The people who arrived in the country in the early 1990 from foreign countries built mosques in accordance with their thinking. Mosques must be built in accordance with the laws," he said.
