About 43 cases of human trafficking were revealed in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of this year, the head of the Department to Combat Human Trafficking Shahin Hojayev told media.
He said that 11 people were brought to justice for human trafficking. About 18 people were victims of human trafficking.
During the reporting stage 4,650 calls were received by the hotline, but human trafficking was confirmed only once, Hojayev said.
The Office for Combating Human Trafficking revealed 70 facts in 2010. About 39 people were brought to justice. About 34 victims of human trafficking were revealed.
