The World Boxing Championship, dedicated to the 88th birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the German city, the press-service of the State Committee on Diaspora told Trend.
The tournament is organized with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany and the Coordination Center of Azerbaijanis in Germany and German-Azerbaijani cultural center in the province of Sachsen-Anhalt, in collaboration with the Azerbaijani federation of boxing fans and the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Congress. Boxers of Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Turkey, Cuba and Azerbaijan participated in the tournament.
Azerbaijan was represented by two boxers at the tournament.
Our compatriot, IBF / Europe, IBO / inter / continental, PABA / interim champion Azad Azizov met with Ukrainian boxer Valentin Kutz. He managed to preserve the name of the world champion.
Azerbaijan was represented by boxer Agali Alishev who met with Czech boxer Zhoshev Holub and won the second belt of the world champion.
Our athletes were supported by the Azerbaijani diaspora at the tournament.
