Azerbaijani gymnasts have returned from the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Minsk.
According to the competition results, the team of Azerbaijani juniors' group won bronze medals at the continental championship. The final rope exercise results were as follows: Russians ranked first (27.100 points), Belarusian gymnasts ranked second (26.500 points) and the Azeri team ranked third (25.825 points).
The Azerbaijani junior group included Lala Yusifova, Aisha Mustafayeva, Mansura Bagiyeva, Aynur Jabbarli, Sabina Garatova and Siyana Vasilyeva.
The Azerbaijani gymnasts performed rope routines to the soundtrack of the movie City Lights. Their dresses were designed in the style of Charlie Chaplin's image, with a shirtfront and butterfly bow tie.
The Azerbaijani athlete Aliya Garayeva received fourth place in two finals in the ball and hoop routines at the European Championship. During the ball routine performance garayeva scored 27.500 points, yielding to Belarusian gymnast Lubov Cherkashina (28.450 points) and two Russian gymnasts - Yevgeniya Kanayeva and Daria Dmitriyeva (28.350 and 27.575 points respectively).
In the hoop exercise Aliya Garayeva scored 27.725 points, which kept her from climbing the podium. The two Russian gymnasts, Yevgeniya Kanayeva (29.450 points) and Daria Kondakova (29.025 points), ranked first. Belarusian gymnast Lubov Cherkashina won bronze with 28.200 points.
