The 18th Azerbaijan Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics has today kicked off in Gusar Olympic Sports Complex. Some 20 gymnasts are attending the event.
Athletes will contest on all-round and separate events.
The tournament is attended by clubs of "Neftchi", "Spartak", Baku Gymnastics School, the Republican Complex Sports School and athletes from Ganja.
Azerbaijani champion on rhythmic gymnastics Aliya Garayeva is regarded as the Championship's favorite. Her main competitors are Zeynab Javadli and Anna Gurbanova.
For the first time Azerbaijan Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics is not in capital, but in region.
The first part of the competition is completed. Bahar Asgerova ranks first scoring 88.56 among adolescents competing in A Group. Albina Aliyeva ranks first scoring 94.59 in senior age group.
