Over the first five months of this year, 426 reports (15.2 percent) on fires were received, this is less than the same period last year by 119 cases (14.6 percent) of the reported fires in living areas and by 39 cases of fires on other facilities, the Deputy Minister of Emergency situations Faig Taghizadeh said on Tuesday at the XI International Baku conference of Ombudsmen.
According to him, during this period, the registered facts of the deaths of minors decreased by three and fire victims decreased by six. The number of rescued was more by seven people; the number of evacuees was 85.
He also noted that due to the security activities on the waters, there were no drownings during the past three years.
