Azerbaijan is a country of honor and dignity, Mr. Nenad Pejic!
Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.27
By Arzu Naghiyev - Trend:
The head of Radio Liberty / Free Europe (RFE/RL) Nenad Pejic stated that the search conducted in the Baku bureau of RFE/RL on Dec.26 is the 'attack' and 'robbery'. However, such harsh remarks have no any legal grounds.
The search in the RFE/RL's Baku bureau was conducted in connection with the criminal case investigated by the Grave Crimes Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office. That's to say, these are the measures taken in accordance with the corresponding article of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The remarks made by Pejic are illogical and unethical. Apparently, the head of RFE/RL has forgotten about all the international norms regarding the status of independence and sovereignty. Probably, he forgot about the moral principles when making such absurd statements that affect the honor and dignity of people.
Azerbaijan is a sovereign and independent state; its borders have been recognized by the UN and it pursues policy not depending on other countries, including the US, EU and others.
Probably, Nenad Pejic and others were aware that the corresponding legal measures will be taken when arresting the employees of Radio Liberty. However, no statements were made.
How was it possible to use Radio Liberty in Azerbaijan's territory not as media but as a tool for propaganda, for attracting certain persons and generating negative public opinion? Of course an adequate response was given to this.
In one word, Nenad Pejic should understand that Azerbaijan is not a country where such expressions can be made. It is simply inadmissible. Therefore, Pejic would better keep his ill-breeding to himself.
We have a stable country created with the great efforts by the head of state and the country's people. Nobody has the right to use such phrases and expressions against Azerbaijan. Otherwise, an adequate response will be given to this.
