Fifty national Olympic committees will participate in the First European Games to be held in Baku in 2015, President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey said at a press conference in Baku on Feb.6.
He was answering the question about Armenia's participation in the Games.
Meanwhile, Simon Clegg, Baku 2015 Chief Operating Officer on his part said that they are still getting information from different national Olympic committees regarding certain details. He didn't elaborate further.
Talking about the accommodation inside the Olympic village, Clegg said it is a very complex puzzle. He said 7,200 athletes from 50 countries should be accommodated.
"We take into account many different factors," he said. "We are negotiating with the 50 NOCs regarding where they want to stay in the village."
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place from 12 - 28 June 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the Games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
