Azerbaijan's National Gymnastics Arena is fully ready for the Baku 2015 First European Games, said Pierce O'Callaghan, the Baku 2015 sport director.

He made the remarks at a press-conference in Baku March 3.

O'Callaghan said international visitors noted that the National Gymnastics Arena is the best venue for gymnastics in Europe they have ever visited.

He said there is absolutely no doubt that the arena is ready for all the disciplines that will be performed there.

O'Callaghan also said the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has great expertise.

"The federation has a lot of international judges who judge at Olympic games," he added.

Aside from that, O'Callaghan said the coaches have the required qualities. He said there is no doubt that the Gymnastics Arena and all the people [at the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation], what is more important, will be at the highest level.

Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
