BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. Azerbaijani athlete Vusal Galandarzade has won gold medal at the ongoing European Youth Judo Championship in Tallinn, Trend reports via Idman.biz.

On the 2nd day of the competition, three Azerbaijani judokas went to the tatami.

73 kg
Galandarzade overcame Kosovar Dion Sharapolli, Emre Karaduman (Türkiye), French Peter Jean and Mate Beruashvili (Georgia), and defeating his Bulgarian opponent Dimitar Gospodinov in the final climbed to the top of the podium.

Aydın Rzayev won over Ibrahim Demirel (Türkiye) and Vlad Mitru (Romania)ç but lost to Danish Morgan Errboe in the 1/8 finals.

81 kg
Suleyman Shukurov won against Petrov Kesov (Cyprus), Luka Zorotovic (Croatia) and Luka Javakhishvili (Georgia), thus advancing to the semifinals. Suleyman overcame Igor Tsurka (Ukraine) in the match for the final.

After the first day, the Azerbaijan national team has three medals. Konul Aliyeva (48 kg) and Fidan Alizada (57 kg) were on the highest level of the podium. Nizami Imranov (60 kg) clinched a silver medal.
