BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Two cars have crashed during the FIA Formula 2 qualifying session within the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024, Trend reports.
Both cars crashed into the barrier one after the other.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a prominent fixture on the Formula 1 (F1) calendar, officially kicked off today at Baku's city circuit. The opening day, part of the event running from September 13-15, included free practice sessions and preliminary rounds for both F1 and Formula 2 (F2) teams.
On September 14, F1 teams will participate in their third free practice session, while F2 will see preliminary races and short sprint races. The main races for both F1 and F2 are set to take place on September 15, where the champions of the weekend will be crowned.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix, held at Baku's city circuit since 2017, has seen 7 editions at the venue to date.
