The number of entities engaged in entrepreneurship activities in tourism sphere grows steadily. The licenses for carrying out tourism activities were obtained by some 40
new companies, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev told Trend exclusively. "Thus, for the moment, 159 tourist companies are operating in the country”, he noted.
According to the Minister, a good tempo of the tourist company number growth is observed in the country. "In 2001 there were 38 such agencies, now 159. About 30-40 new units emerge annually in Azerbaijan. I think it is a good tempo, as the market itself determines the needed number of companies’, the Minister noted.
According to him, the market over-saturation is inexpedient. "Therefore, it seems to me, the number of companies operating in the market today, reflects real demands of the tourism market”, the Minister noted.
