The FIDE included grand master Shahriyar Mammadyarov into the list of the participants of the World Cup, which will be held in Hanta-Mansiysk in late November.

It became possible as a result of refusal of potential participants of the competitions to play at the World Cup such as Bulgarian Veselin Topalov, the world champion in Argentina, Rustam Kasimjanov from Uzbekistan, Michael Adams from the UK, Garri Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik from Russia, Vishvanatan Anand from India, as Mammadyarov had been included in the reserve list beforehand.

Mammadyarov has success at the World Youth Championship in Istanbul.
