The court trial of Zahid Janaev and Ziyadhan Budagov, who are accused in the falsifying the 6 of November, 2006 parliamentary elections results is over, the lawyer, Nasimi Isayev told Trend.
The Binagadi district court` s judge, Hasan Aliyev was leading the process. In the course of investigation it was discovered that Janaev has occupied position of the member of the electoral commission at the Binagadi second electoral district #9, whereas, Budagov was in charge of the electoral district #20 of the same region. Both are charged according to the article 161.1 (falsification of electoral documents, preliminary false vote counting and disclosure of voting confidentiality) and 308.1 (power abuse) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Codex. They have falsified the protocols, violating the electoral rights of citizens. The court has found elements of crime in their actions. Noticeably, considering the wrong counting of votes all results of the elections held in the second Binagadi district #9 were annulated. Each of the convicted persons will spend 5 months in prison according to the court decision.
