The Republican Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Health Ministry held a laboratory research in the period between October 10 and October 30. These checks were conducted according to the physical and chemical indicators of two kinds of dairy products, 3 kinds confectionery products, 33 kinds of farinaceous foods, 18 kinds of non-alcohol drinks, 2 kinds of alcohol drinks, 27 kinds of fish foods, and 7 other ones according to microbiological indicators, 24 kinds of fish foods, 30 kinds of farinaceous foods, 3 kinds of confectionery products, 12 samples of water, 148 ones according to toxicological indicators, and 34 kinds of foods according to radiological indicators.
Based on the results of the checks, it became evident that 2 types of fish products did not meet with microbiological indicators, and 2 samples of alcohol drinks did not meet with physical and chemical indicators.
On the whole, hygienic certification of 104 kinds of products was provided.
Thirty nine physical and legal persons were fined due to their violation of the regulations and rules of production, storage, and carrying, and selling foodstuff.
The activity of four facilities that did not meet with sanitation and sanitation-technical norms were suspended. These facilities were located on the territory of Binagadi, Khatai, etc.
In Baku City, totally 328 kg of smoked fish (scomber) were dealt away. In the reporting period, 43 cases of poisoning were registered. Based on results of these poisonings, 37 people suffered. Fortunately, no fatal outcome was registered. The reasons of their poisoning were studied and all who suffered were provided with necessary medical aid.
