It is too early to speak about Azerbaijan transforming into an Islamic state, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Department of Caucasian Muslims said commenting calls of some Islamic organizations of the Country on including key Islamic principles to the Constitution of the Country, Trend reports.
According to Sheikh-ul-Islam, such an implementation might really meet the people wishes and expectations, but it is necessary to hold a general referendum, as well as to move amendments to the Constitution. And that does not meet either the current needs and requirements, or the qualifications of our society, therefore, it would be wrong and too early to speak about it today, said the spiritual leader of Caucasian Muslims.
